Lauren's POV:

Our journey began in October 2021. I was a junior at Michigan State University and Isaac sent me a DM on instagram, responding to a song I posted on my story. We chatted for a little while about music, football, and how my classes were going. A couple days later, he was "coincidentally" coming up to Michigan State to visit some friends and invited me to join them for dinner. He immediately made me laugh, he asked about my life, and he played some really good music in the car. After that, we continued to text and planned an official first date for October 16.

It was a cool, fall day when Isaac arrived to my house and I had finally settled on an outfit, after roughly six outfit changes. White doc martens to go to a cider mill? The dedication to look cute was real. We went to the cider mill and laughed the whole way there. He grabbed my hand in the corn maze to help me over a puddle (aww) and I felt my heart genuinely skip a beat. If you know me well, you know the date didn't end in kiss in the rain movie style fashion... but there was a second, third, fourth date. And now, I get to date him forever.

These past 3+ years of dating and being engaged have been the best years of my life. His kindness, love, compassion, humor, adventurous spirit, and love for the Lord made me fall hopelessly in love.

I can't wait to spend forever with him :)

Isaac's POV:

I met Lauren once at OPC after church back in 2021. I didn’t think too much of it other than thinking she was very attractive. Some time passed and I went to the Koopman’s for a Worship team gathering. I stayed there til about 1:30am and at one point in the night Claire and Martha asked me if I would be interested in being set up with Lauren. Without hesitation I said yes but nothing happened for a while. I grew impatient and decided to respond to Lauren’s Instagram story to get the ball rolling. We started talking more and more and eventually I decided to go up to MSU to visit some friends and invite her out to dinner with us. The night was perfect and after leaving we agreed that a date needed to happen soon. We messaged each other every day and eventually planned our first date to Three Cedars Farm and Ironwood Grille. Obviously this went well and we began dating. Fast forward to March 22, 2024 I told Lauren we were going to a Pistons game with friends and instead I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. I am so excited for May 31st to finally get here so we can begin our next journey as husband and wife!
